The article discusses the problem of choosing a style of pedagogical communication between a teacher and an unsuccessful younger schoolchild. It provides a description of an unsuccessful younger schoolchild. It examines the features of interaction between an unsuccessful child and teachers of an authoritarian, liberal and democratic communication style. It substantiates the optimality of the teacher’s choice of a democratic communication style. It describes a method for overcoming the problem of failure by creating a situation of success.
