The article presents the results of the study (online survey) of the career of graduates of the Department of Personnel Management of GUU of diff erent years. The data on the dynamics of their careers (changing positions in a specifi c time frame); on functional responsibilities; on personal qualities that contribute to career advancement; on job promotion plans for the next fi ve years; on the benefi ts of practice, extracurricular and research activities at the university for career and professional development are analyzed. At the same time, the most useful academic disciplines and missing competencies have been identifi ed for graduates-current specialists in the HR fi eld, plans for the development of necessary professional and personal qualities, goals for the realization of interests related to their profession (fi eld of activity) have been revealed. The results of the study will be useful to teachers of the department and its current students, as well as HR managers of Russian companies.
