The article substantiates the transformation of primary school teacher training in the context of the current and forthcoming educational policy documents required to implement engineering‑technological training (ETT). It analyzes regulatory acts, higher pedagogical education programs, and the requirements of primary general education. The study identifies deficits, conditions for implementation, expected outcomes, and projected ways to overcome the deficits, and specifies the disciplines and competencies needed to prepare future teachers to deliver ETT. It proposes pathways for transforming the content of teacher‑training programs, including the introduction of new courses and the modernization of existing curricula. The research was carried out within the state assignment of The Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation (topic No. 125101711745-9 ("Transformation of teacher training to ensure the implementation of engineering and technological education for schoolchildren in general and additional education programs in the context of modern challenges")).
