The article presents the experience of non-standard organization of lectures in the course “Natural scientific foundations of professional teacher training”, given to future primary school teachers. The author reveals five main distinctive features of designing lectures in fundamental disciplines related to the future professional activities of students. The relevance of the article’s materials is proven by the results of testing using the absolute assessment method using the modified diagnostic technique of E.M. Bukhvalova and L.V. Karpushina
