The article considers the actual problem of the formation of knowledge, skills and habits of a healthy and safe way of life of younger schoolchildren. In addition to studying the relevant sections of the subject “The World Around Us” during the lesson, it is suggested to use texts that allow the teacher to organize educational dialogues in the course of extra-curricular activities when the first-grade pupils the “ABC book of the safe and healthy life” course are taught. Examples of texts are given, the discussion of which promotes children’s awareness of the need to observe safety rules in various everyday situations.
