This article analyzes issues related to increasing labor productivity in the production units of large industrial enterprises, which is considered as a tool for survival and maintaining production volumes in the face of severe staff shortages in the modern Russian economy. Measures aimed at increasing labor productivity should include specific changes to business processes in production units, improving workplaces in terms of occupational safety and attractiveness, and developing an employer’s HR brand. These measures should not be one-time actions but rather create a platform for continuous improvements. A theoretical analysis of labor organization studies has been conducted, and key areas have been identified that organizations currently need to focus on in order to maintain the company’s attractiveness for applicants and employees. The results of a practical study of labor organization are presented. Based on the diagnostics carried out, measures are proposed that will reduce staff turnover, develop the internal candidate market by performing operations with a smaller number of employees, and attract young and promising specialists to the company and the industry.
