The authors examine fine art as an essential element of the educational process in primary school, fostering the aesthetic and artistic development of the individual. A key aspect is the development of coloristic skills, which significantly influence the perception and understanding of the surrounding world. At this age, children not only actively explore reality but also develop their own ideas about color, which is closely linked to their cognitive and emotional development. Coloristic skills are the mastery of color, based on knowledge of color science and coloristics. The development of coloristic skills is a key element of introductory painting instruction, as it contributes to the improvement of visual memory, imaginative thinking, and artistic imagination. This study presents the development of three diagnostic methods based on the cognitive, affective, and activity-creative structural components of coloristic skills.
