Averchenkov Vladimir Ivanovich

Averchenkov Vladimir Ivanovich is Doctor of Engineering, Professor of the Department of Computer Technologies and Systems of Bryansk State Technical University; graduated from Bryansk Institute of Transport Engineering in 1970.

Averchenkov V.I. worked as the head of the following departments: Technology of Mechanical Engineering (1988-2003), Computer Technologies and Systems (2003-2017), Vice-rector for IT Development and International Cooperation (1994-2013) at Bryansk State Technical University (former Bryansk Institute of Transport Engineering); Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation (1997), Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education (2000), awarded the Order of Friendship (2003).

Averchenkov V. I. is a well-known scientist of the country in the field of mathematical and computer modelling of production design processes in mechanical engineering and development of new advanced technologies. As a result of his scientific research there are fundamentally new approaches created to formalize methods for constructing and selecting advanced technologies that ensure the required quality of products, reducing the labor intensiveness, energy consumption, material consumption and cost of their manufacture in the conditions of automated decision-making. A number of subsystems of CAD processes, databases and expert systems for technological purposes introduced at various industrial enterprises of the country are based on the theory of structural and parametric optimization of technological objects under his supervision. A lot of specialists in the field of mechanical engineering technologies know scientific works of Professor Averchenkov V.I. on the study of the technological heredity phenomenon, which allow to control forming the product quality at all stages of its manufacture. Studying the ways to use artificial intelligence methods to solve technological problems he proposed an approach to create fundamentally new processing methods.

Averchenkov V.I. is the author of more than 700 scientific works, including 60 monographs, textbooks, manuals and 8 inventions. Among these works, the most famous are 10 monographs published on the basis of the research results carried out together with the scientists of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR and the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR. He proved to be a capable manager of research teams: an institute laboratory of CAD-TP was created under his guidance, and in 1991 Bryansk Regional Center for New Information Technologies was established, which conducts comprehensive work on computerization of education and other activities in Bryansk region.

In recent years he has supervised more than 20 research and design works at the request of the Ministry of Education and Science, regional departments and industrial enterprises of the region.

V. I. Averchenkov is the chairman of the dissertation committee on doctoral and candidate theses defense in three specialties of IT development, as well as a member of other dissertation committees on doctoral theses defense.
