The purpose of this study is to assess the importance of continuity in philosophy and the relevance of old ideas in modern conceptions of the picture of being. The article provides a comparative analysis of research on scientific worldviews.: classical, nonclassical, and post-nonclassical, including relativism. In the last two centuries, science in the field of natural philosophy has been divided into many directions. With each new century, science opens up new horizons, initiates new research and develops new fields of knowledge. Within the framework of this research, the author addresses modern problems of ontology from a scientific point of view, using the explanation of being as one of the most objective ways of understanding the world. The article discusses such concepts as existence, reality and objective reality. The world around us, or more precisely, its properties and attributes, are presented to us with the help of reason and consciousness.
