When compiling the course Academic Writing, it is essential to take into account the personal qualities and characteristics of the student and his personal educational needs and, accordingly, select the material, taking into account the developing purpose of teaching a foreign language. In the context of the anthropocentric paradigm, the course "Academic Writing" is focused on the formation of students' foreign language communicative competence, covering students' personal qualities knowledge, competences, skills and abilities – and the ability to eliminate problems and autonomously find solutions to issues arising in the process of educational, socio-cultural and professional or everyday communication in a foreign language.
