The author explores the legal grounds for excluding the Russian Federation from participating in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The article considers the regulatory framework for the or-ganization of the Olympic Games, the history of the exclusion of states from participating in the Olympic Games. The conclusion is drawn about the legality of the suspension of the Russian Olympic Committee for an indefinite period, but the politicization of certain provisions of the Olympic Charter that were used for this purpose. The issue of the illegality of the requirements imposed on Russian athletes who violate the principles of Olympism enshrined in the Olympic Charter is also being considered.
