The peculiarity of teaching mathematics in the fourth grade is that it is necessary to prepare the primary school student for the transition to the basic school. It depends on the teacher how successfully the student subsequently adapts to the educational process in the fifth grade. In this regard, the teacher in the fourth grade faces several tasks: to ensure that students achieve the planned results (personal, subject, meta-subject) in accordance with the requirements of the standard, to create conditions for a smooth transition to the basic school. The article considers the areas of work of the teacher to solve these problems. Examples of multi-level tasks are given, as well as tasks for the formation of fourth-graders’ ability to predict as a self-control operation.
