One of the most important criteria for assessing the quality of training of a university graduate is the employer's satisfaction. Having analyzed employer requests for the position of an agricultural mechanical engineer, we found that specialists are needed who can both organize and perform work with agricultural machinery. Having compared employer requests with the professional standard, we found that all the presented work functions for the sixth qualification level are related to the implementation of the organization of work on the operation, maintenance and repair of agricultural machinery. And the work functions for the performance of work on the repair, maintenance and operation are intended for a mechanic. Considering that universities form professional competencies based on the work functions of the professional standard, we concluded that most of the expected responsibilities of the employer do not correspond to the university training program, therefore, it reduces the likelihood of employing a graduate.
