The article considers mentoring and mentoring as one of the leading directions in the development of student science at the present stage. An appeal is made to the theoretical understanding of these event-related social practices, as well as examples from the experience of organizing research activities of students in the framework of cooperation between student scientific societies of the Kaluga State University. K.E. Tsiolkovsky and Kaluga Municipal Construction College named after I.K. Tsipulina. The risks of organizing scientific mentoring and mentoring in SVE institutions and universities are considered, and ways to prevent them are proposed. The materials of the article may be useful for teachers, leaders and members of student scientific societies.
