Modern society is increasingly emphasizing the importance of psychological health; more and more people are seeking help from specialists in the field of psychological counseling. As real practice shows, in a number of cases a psychologist begins to work with the client, but does not believe in the results of a successful outcome of counseling. This article discusses, firstly, the prerequisites for the formation of such a defective cognitive mechanism and, secondly, describes why such an approach can lead to weak or absent results for the patient, and also considers the importance of including belief ideas in the results in the spectrum of ethical axiology of a practicing psychologist.
