The transition of the higher education system to new educational standards imposes relevant requirements on the design, content and implementation of the procedure for evaluating students’ educational results. The article analyzes the metasubject approach to assessing the formation of competencies among students of a pedagogical university during the current and fi nal control. The authors describe the forms of control, criteria and indicators for evaluating the results of educational activities. The problem of point-rating approach in the assessment system in terms of the competence-based learning model is discussed.
