Subjects of Russian timber industry has a key role in shaping the volume and structure of gross domestic product, but in this industry increases the negative trends in the development of investment activity, limiting investment in production, resulting in a qualitative transformation industry slower flow. That is creating conditions predetermine the prospects of the investment process in many sectors of Russia, among them - the timber industry complex, and can provide investment activity in participation in investment projects aimed at the establishment and development of material production in Russia.

Результаты различных исследований показывают сложное положение дел во многих промышленных отраслях России, в том числе и в лесной промышленности. Эксперты называют в качестве одной из основных причин негативных тенденций вступление России в ВТО, что требует следования международным нормам, неблагоприятно воздействующего на деревообрабатывающие предприятия [1]. В связи с этим промышленным предприятиям приходится решать такие проблемы, как увеличение экспорта сырья из-за снижения вывозных пошлин на необработанный лес и неизбежный рост конкуренции в сегменте готовой продукции [2].
