The paper evaluates the connectivity of the economic systems of the two federal districts of the country by studying the relationship between income values and income growth rates in the regions of Siberia and the Far East using mathematical statistics and econometrics. The coherence of economic development in the regions of the Siberian Federal District has been relatively stable in recent years. The connectivity of the economic development of the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District has increased in recent years. In 2015, the average per capita income in the regions of the Siberian Federal District differed by 1.74 times, in 2024 – by 1.73 times. In 2015, the average per capita income in the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District varied 2.7 times, but by 2024, income differences had increased significantly to 4.2 times. One of the important factors in the growth of income inequality in the regions of the Far East has been the accelerated growth of the extractive industry in the regions, while reducing the share of the manufacturing industry. Appropriate regional economic policy, including industrial policy, is needed to overcome differences in the level of economic development of the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District.
