The article is devoted to the problem of organizing and conducting a master class as an effective form of improving the level of professional competence of a teacher, which especially becomes relevant in the context of the renewal of modern education. The essence of the concept of “master class” and its difference from advanced pedagogical experience is revealed. The key stages of its preparation and conduct are described using the example of the main stages and individual techniques of the technology for the development of critical thinking.
