SOME ASPECTS OF DEVELOPING MATHEMATICAL LITERACY IN SCHOOLCHILDREN IN THE CONTEXT OF THE UPDATED FSES OF GENERAL EDUCATION

Abstract:
The article presents some aspects of the development of students' mathematical literacy in a mathematics lesson in the context of the updated Federal State Educational Standard for Basic General Education, which are relevant not only for a particular national education system, but also on a global scale. Examples from the author's experience in this context are provided, and the same mathematical fact is presented in various forms (verbal, graphical (in the language of a drawing), and symbolic). This gradation correlates with the type of text (continuous, discontinuous, and mixed types of text). The results of the analysis of the theoretical and practical interpretation of the content, in the context of the problem under consideration, can serve as a basis for designing a modern model of teaching the younger generation in the context of developing their mathematical literacy, using both mathematical content and meta-subject content. The proposed content is intended for mathematics teachers, students of higher education institutions specializing in mathematics, and students in grades 5-9.
