POSSIBILITIES OF USING 
THE POSTULATES OF CHESTER BARNARD'S MANAGEMENT SCIENCE IN MODERN CONDITIONS

Abstract:
The relevance of this study is determined by the urgent need to ensure sustainable development 
of society, not only in environmental and social aspects, but also in economic ones. The objective 
of this study is to examine, from a theoretical and methodological perspective, the potential 
for applying Chester Barnard's management science postulates regarding the limitations of an organization's life cycle in modern conditions. The scientific novelty of the obtained results lies 
in the examination of the problem raised by C. Barnard of the limitations of an organization's life cycle, caused by the misalignment of the interests of its members exercising executive functions and the interests of the organization as a system, from the perspective of the possibility of its solution, including in the context of fostering an appropriate mentality when a member of an organization exercising executive functions shifts from a position of earning money for themselves and their descendants, to the detriment of the development of the organization as a system, to a position 
of ensuring the possibility of the organization's development in the interests of both current and future generations. The practical significance of the obtained results lies in their potential use 
in substantiating the principles of sustainable development of society.
