This article discusses the issue of improving an educational institution’s extracurricular activities with primary schoolchildren. It explores the intrinsic value of this type of work with students for their development and the formation of well-rounded individuals. It describes the main goals and objectives of extracurricular activities, as well as the risks of an inappropriate approach to the place and role of extracurricular activities.
