Traditional artistic embroidery is an integral part of the cultural identity of peoples and plays a key role in preserving historical memory. This article discusses the urgent problem of updating the content of a number of specialized disciplines for teaching future artists not only manual, but also machine embroidery. In the context of modern cultural heritage, the development of machine embroidery technologies opens up new horizons for creative expression, which will allow future artists to use digital tools to expand the boundaries of their professional practices. The article emphasizes that, despite the apparent incompatibility of hand and machine embroidery technologies, they can mutually enrich each other, and also provides research results that confirmed the hypothesis that the inclusion of machine embroidery technologies in the content of specialized disciplines allowed students to develop skills in demand in the field of textile design and fashion, provide students have new opportunities to create highly artistic products with embroidery as part of their final qualifying work.
