A pilot study assessed the diagnostic efficacy of the optical-electronic system TruScreen in detecting vulvar and vaginal abnormalities, as well as in the differential diagnosis of congenital transformation zone (CTZ) and cervical neoplasia. The study included 18 patients, and device results were compared with clinical and laboratory data. In some cases, TruScreen demonstrated normal results in the presence of confirmed abnormalities. Low reproducibility of results was noted when attempting to differentiate CTZ from cervical neoplasia. These findings suggest the need for additional research to clarify the potential of TruScreen for diagnosing extracervical lesions. However, the results of the pilot study do not diminish the value of this method in diagnosing cervical neoplasia or its potential role in monitoring patients' condition after treatment.
