ACTIVITIES AT THE UNIVERSITY

Abstract:
The article considers the relationship between the effectiveness of national security strategies and 
the development of a competitive economy, as well as the high quality of life of the population, which includes education and science. It is emphasized that scientific research plays a key role in ensuring stable economic growth and leadership of the country in the conditions of global competition. 
The main directions of the Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation until 2030 are discussed, focusing on the problems of science policy set out in the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated July 21, 2020 № 474 “On the national development goals of the Russian Federation for the period until 2030”. The structure of scientific organizations 
in Russia is analyzed, where the dominant position is occupied by state institutions and academic scientific organizations. Significant funding of fundamental research is pointed out, which accounts for about 60% of the total amount of allocations from the federal budget. The results of a questionnaire survey of faculty and students of St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation 
are also presented, which emphasizes the importance of scientific activity in educational institutions. The article calls for further development of scientific infrastructure and strengthening of links between science, education and industry to achieve the country's strategic goals.
