The issues of the formation of spelling skills in junior schoolchildren with risks of writing disorders are considered. Based on the analysis of the results of the speech teacher examination of first-grade schoolchildren, a group of children with risks of writing disorders has been identified. It was revealed that by the end of first grade education, the least developed among schoolchildren at risk of writing disorders was the skill of working with orthograms. The identification of key deficits in the development of writing skills made it possible to develop and implement a correctional and developmental program aimed at the formation of spelling skills among second grade schoolchildren. The stages of the program's implementation, thematic planning and conditions for correctional and developmental classes are described, technology and techniques for solving spelling problems are presented. The effectiveness of the work on the formation of spelling skills in junior schoolchildren with risks of writing disorders was confirmed by the data of a control experiment.
