The article focuses on the influence degree in speech situations, professional activities, and personal qualities of the speaker frequently filling pauses use. It is set how acceptable the filling pauses use in public speeches. Revealed that the profession, the habit to speak, and the speech situation affect the appearance of the aggregates breaks, but are not the deciding factor. In the course of the analysis it is proved that, in quantitative and qualitative use of filler pauses decisive factor is the personal qualities of the speaker, therefore, it is necessary to take into account the upbringing, education, psychological, cultural type, activity, age, and more.

Изучению пауз колебания в устной речи посвящено немало исследований, но в настоящее время вопросы о том, к каким единицам относить заполнители пауз и каковы причины их появления, являются открытыми и нуждаются в дальнейшем изучении. Термин «пауза колебания» появился во второй половине прошлого века. В научной литературе встречаем и другие определения: «пауза нерешительности», «пауза размышления», «пауза обдумывания», которые так и не получили широкого распространения [1, с. 95], также используются термины «лишние» или «излишние» [4, с. 218]. Предпринято множество попыток классифицировать заполнители пауз. Наиболее полной, на наш взгляд, можно назвать классификацию, представленную в работе Н.В. Суховой [5].
Заполнители пауз широко распространены не только в устной разговорной речи, но и в публичной. Материал нашего исследования представляют лекции преподавателей Саратовского государственного университета им. Н.Г. Чернышевского. Мы попытаемся ответить на вопросы: зависит ли появление заполнителей пауз от специальности говорящего? От его речевой культуры? Личных факторов?
