The article contains the work on identifying and analyzing the factors influencing the productivity of the economic system. The study found that productivity estimates based on the gross domestic product indicator calculated at purchasing power parity and in nominal terms differ significantly. The factors that have the greatest impact on the productivity of the system are identified, including the prevailing form of ownership, output structure, and quality of infrastructure. It is concluded that a comparison of labor productivity indicators in different countries and regions does not provide an objective assessment of the state of the economic system.
