Modern Russian society must provide assistance to people who have become disabled during military operations and special operations. Acquired disability is characterized by a persistent state of loss of previously formed professional and social skills, therefore disabled combat veterans need rehabilitation. The characteristics of living with a disability received while performing official duty during a special military operation are largely determined by premorbid socio-psychological characteristics. It is necessary to conduct theoretical and empirical research aimed at identifying the socio-psychological determinants of the rehabilitation of disabled combat veterans. To achieve this goal, an empirical study (N=24) was conducted using a questionnaire survey with the participation of 24 people who participated in a special military operation and received the status of “combat disabled” or are at the stage of registering a disability. It was established that the socio-psychological determinants of the rehabilitation of disabled combat veterans are the characteristics of their social communication and social interaction, motivation to obtain education and work, and the activity they demonstrate in this area. As the analysis showed, disabled combatants have different levels of motivation and need for education or retraining, work, depending on their professional status before participating in a special military operation. If disabled combatants had professional activities related to the military sphere before participating in a special military operation, then they are characterized by a higher level of social intelligence.
