Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The article presents statistical data on the prevalence of developmental disorders in Russia. The authors examine the current state of medical and psychological-pedagogical support for children with various developmental disorders in various countries of the world: the Russian Federation, Hungary, Germany, England, Israel, Switzerland, the United States of America, Bulgaria, Belarus, and other countries. Much attention in the article is paid to the importance and stages of medical care in the system of comprehensive support for children with various developmental disorders. The results of the study showed that in practice the process of medical-psychological-pedagogical support for children with various developmental disorders both in medical institutions and in educational organizations is underdeveloped. The obtained results of the study expand the understanding of the features of support for children with special educational needs and the needs of parents (legal representatives) raising children of this category, and also enrich traditional approaches to the interaction of support specialists and parents. The results of the study revealed a number of problems associated with the activities of medical, psychological and pedagogical support for children with various developmental disabilities. The survey results showed that only a part of medical institutions and educational organizations have medical, psychological and pedagogical support services for children with various developmental disabilities. The staffing of these services is not always sufficient and qualified. Continuity in supporting a child with developmental disabilities is not ensured between healthcare institutions and educational organizations where the child receives comprehensive rehabilitation. Difficulties in interaction between support specialists and parents, low motivation of parents to establish productive cooperation were identified.
