The article examines the possibilities of creative methods of teaching literary reading as a means of moral and aesthetic development of primary school students. The authors emphasize the importance of using improvisational games based on the methods of the theater of spontaneity to create an emotional connection between students and literary characters. The author's methods of working with small folklore genres and lyrical works are discussed. The article focuses on the author's technique of "Emotional portrait", which helps younger schoolchildren to understand the moral choice of characters through the color designation of emotions and qualities of characters. In addition, we consider game and creative tasks for working with small genres of folklore and lyrical works that promote the development of imagination, morality and interest in literature. The article provides examples of the practical application of the described techniques and games, such as the board game "Folklore World" and "Literary Maze", which make the learning process interactive and contribute to a deep understanding of texts and the author's position.
