ELCUT is the only Russian made finite element software dedicated for low-frequency electromagnetic and heat transfer analysis. Being in the market for decades, ELCUT is successfully using by both academic and engineering researchers and teachers of fundamentals of electrical and power engineering. This paper presents the ELCUT problem formulations and capabilities, observes some recent technical researches, and summarized the experience of using ELCUT in the curriculum of electrical engineering students.
