CALCULATION OF ELECTRIC FIELDS OF POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE STREAMER HEADS IN THE AIR

Abstract:
The mathematical modeling studied the distribution of the electric field in cottonplant positive streamer head and in the bipolar streamer. Streamers propagate in air discharge gap with a uniform field. The streamer head is formed at gap depth and therefore has positive and negative head. It is shown that the highest value of tension in the negative streamer head is lower than positive. Therefore, it is concluded that in high-voltage technology one should use a positive streamer discharge.
