This article is dedicated to the political figure of the Grand Duchy of Finland of the early 20th century, famous for his outrageous antics, F. Nuupala, as well as his brainchild, the Rural Workers' Party. It is worth emphasizing that neither F. Nuupala nor the Rural Workers' Party had previously come to the attention of domestic researchers, and therefore the presented article is the first scientific publication about F. Nuupala in domestic political science and history. The inconsistency of the topic determined the purpose of the article - this is an analysis of the personality of F. Nuupala, his social and political activities and the Rural Workers' Party created by him. The article used descriptive, historical, systemic, comparative research methods. The article covers in detail the issue of how shocking behavior, which was the basis of F. Nuupala's behavioral model, became for him the most important tool for positioning himself as a political figure in the socio-political space of the Grand Duchy of Finland, a tool aimed at reaching the heights of the political Olympus, and therefore success in life. The Rural Workers' Party created by F. Nuupala fits well into the framework of the designated behavioral model of F. Nuupala and therefore, in addition to its declared political goals, the party was in many ways a manifestation of F. Nuupala's political ambitions and the assertion of his "ego". Against this personal and political background, the article tells about the history of the Rural Workers' Party, analyzes its activities, and provides a description of the party's program provisions. The theoretical significance of the article lies in the introduction of information about the Rural Workers' Party and its leader F. Nuupala into scientific circulation, which allows us to more fully understand the features of the formation of national political parties in the Grand Duchy of Finland in the early 20th century and, in general, expand theoretical ideas about the formation of the party system in Finland in the period under review. Practical significance. The materials and conclusions of the article can be used in works on the political history of Russia and Finland in the late 19th – early 20th centuries. Also, the materials presented in the article can be in demand when analyzing the activities of outrageous leaders, predicting their political fate, their influence on political preferences and finding out the reasons for the demand of certain groups of the population for such leaders.
