The article analyzes the agro-food policy of the Ryazan region in the context of the implementation of the strategic priorities of the state to ensure food security. The information basis of the study was the materials of statistical collections of Rosstat, Ryazanstat; Resolutions and Orders of the Government of the Russian Federation and the Ryazan region related to food security issues; reporting data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Ryazan region. The analysis of the effectiveness of the implementation of the regional state program "Development of agriculture" in the field of production, processing and sale of agricultural products in dynamics over five years has been carried out. The achievement of the program's target indicators for most of the declared indicators has been revealed. The main problems of the region in the implementation of the State program at the current stage are outlined
