Various researchers have noted the fact that the mechanical and operational properties of the processed products are influenced by their overall dimensions and shape (scale effect). The technology of wave deformation hardening (VDH) has appeared relatively recently and some of its possibilities, including scale effect, have not been fully studied. The paper solves the problems of determining the influence of the overall dimensions and shapes of samples on the results of hardening after VDH. The change in the degree and depth of hardening of VDH-treated samples of different sizes and shapes is estimated. The novelty of the work is in finding the connection between the shapes and sizes of samples and the effectiveness of hardening. The conclusions obtained as a result of the conducted research allowed to find acceptable limits at which it is necessary to take into account the influence of geometric dimensions on the results of hardening during VDH.
