Modern science is an extensive and complex system of knowledge, including a variety of fields, disciplines, types, levels and units of scientific knowledge. Even the knowledge of any particular science has a complex structure and consists of four qualitatively different levels of knowledge: sensory, empirical, theoretical and metatheoretical. Despite the significant differences in the content and form of various structural units of scientific knowledge, it is nevertheless unified, because all its levels and types meet the general requirements of scientific rationality. This article examines the problem of the truth of only the empirical level of scientific knowledge and its various structural units: protocol proposals, empirical facts, empirical laws and empirical theories.
