This article, written on a topical issue related to the application of the concept and methodology of behavioral finance, shows the importance of such developments in a historical context and reveals the reasons for the popularity of the applied set of tools for such research due to the additional opportunities that its application provides for the analysis of modern processes in the economy of investment. In this context, the prevalence and applicability in modern conditions of the concept and methodology of behavioral finance in a number of leading Russian and global companies is shown. The issues of qualitative compliance of such developments and their relevance in terms of the possibilities of using situational analysis created on their basis are also considered. It is also indicated in this paper that behavioral finance is a relatively new analytical technology, and its capabilities to a large extent limited by the scope of its application.
