The relevance of the presented research is determined by the fact that in the conditions of a post-industrial economy, quite serious changes have occurred in comparison with the industrial one, which requires understanding the change in the perception of the postulates of economic science, which was formed mainly in the industrial and pre-industrial eras. The purpose of the research is to critically analyze the transformation of the perception of the postulates of economic theory concerning economic agents when moving from an industrial to a postindustrial economy in the interests of increasing the objectivity of the assessment of ongoing and expected socio-economic processes. The scientific novelty of the results obtained is manifested in identifying signs of similarities and differences in the postulate of economic theory about the interaction of economic agents in the industrial and post-industrial eras, causing changes in the nature of their perception in modern conditions. The practical significance of the obtained results lies in the possibility of using the obtained explanations of the reasons for the transformation of the perception of the postulates of economic theory when moving from an industrial to a post-industrial economy using the example of the postulate of economic theory on the interaction of economic agents to a wider range of postulates of economic theory.
