Currently, more and more attention is being paid to creating favorable conditions for the flow of funds into Russia - investment. In the context of geopolitical exports that Russia has faced, this topic has become even more relevant, since the environment has changed, which has created an objective one. the need to update the methodological aspects of the formation of investment attractiveness. The article discusses approaches to determining investment attractiveness, draws conclusions about the place of this term in the investment space of the Russian economy, and the impact on the investment climate of the regions. Particular attention is paid to the study of methods for regional assessment of attractiveness, a critical analysis of the existing opinions of authors on this topic is carried out, the results of some of them are presented, and the author’s model of investment attractiveness is formed, which includes all elements of the region’s external environment.
