This work is devoted to the analysis of the state and use of land and natural resources of the forest zone of the Omsk region, their potential and the possibility of use in various spheres of life. The relevance of the study is emphasized by the importance of taking into account all the benefits of the forest, since the forest fund currently appears not only as a natural resource and a factor of production, but also as an important object of forestry business and a valuable strategic resource, the presence and diversity of which determines the success of the development of many spheres of life. The purpose of the study is to analyze the state of land and natural resources of the forest zone of the Omsk region. When studying the state and use of land and natural resources, an analysis of the general condition of the object was carried out, taking into account the use of statistical, cartographic and other materials. The study was based on the following materials: territorial planning documents, forestry regulations of forestry enterprises that are part of the forest zone of the Omsk region, the forest plan of the Omsk region, data from the state forest register, reports on the state and use of land, documents of the socio-economic development strategy, as well as publicly available information on the Internet, cartographic materials. In this study, methods of system analysis, analysis-synthesis, comparison were used.

С переходом нашей страны с плановой экономики на рыночную, лесной фонд следует рассматривать не только как важнейший природный ресурс, но и как объект лесохозяйственного бизнеса и ценный стратегический ресурс, от наличия и качества которого зависит успешность развития многих сфер жизнедеятельности. Правильным подходом современного планирования лесного хозяйства является планирование, отвечающее на три главных вопроса: «Какое состояние дел в управляемом объекте?», «Какие цели нужно достигнуть и какие задачи решить?», «Какие мероприятия для этого следует выполнить?» [1].
Вопросы комплексного описания лесного фонда рассматривались в работах В.В. Беспаловой [2], С.С. Морковиной [3], О.А. Полянской [4] и др. Авторы уточняют важность переориентации лесопромышленного комплекса на принципы наиболее рационального, эффективного, комплексного использования лесных ресурсов.
Для достижения цели рационального, эффективного и комплексного лесопользования необходима достаточно полная и актуальная информация о природных ресурсах, полученная, в том числе, посредством мониторинга [5, 6]. Научные принципы мониторинга и оценки лесных земель включают фиксацию и сбор, накопление и систематизацию натуральных показателей, в том числе и отображение их на картографической основе, с целью эффективного ведения лесного хозяйства [7, 8].
Сложность эффективного управления земле- и природопользованием ввиду недостаточности мониторинговой информации, а также из-за несопоставимости данных рассматривается в трудах С.А. Липски [9], А.А. Мельниковой [10] и др. Таким образом, вопросы исследования состояния природных ресурсов и их использования с точки зрения их многогранности и многофункциональности должны иметь свою важность, так как для разработки необходимых мероприятий прежде всего нужна полная информация об объекте и его составляющих [11, 12].
Территория лесной зоны обладает большими запасами земельных и лесных ресурсов что является основным фактором увеличения объемов производства и создает условия для развития лесного хозяйства. Вместе с тем, существуют некоторые практические проблемы при использовании земельно-ресурсного потенциала зоны. Наиболее эффективными предложениями по решению многих проблем выступили:
- вооружение лесничеств техническими средствами с повышенной проходимостью;
- применение технологий дистанционного наблюдения;
- создание баз данных, охватывающих широкий спектр свойств лесных экосистем;
- строительство лесовозных дорог;
- применение транспортировки лесных продуктов речным сообщением;
- организация погрузочных пунктов.
