This article is devoted to the consideration of historicisms of the GDR era. Changes in language reflect changes in society, studying this change allows you to better understand the culture of the people. The article examines the linguistic and cultural features of the historicisms of the GDR era, namely, the lexical units that were used to denote the realities of that time are considered. In addition, it was revealed that to a greater extent nouns were used to designate historicisms, which were often borrowed from the Russian language either directly or by the method of "calcification".
