The article analyzes the genesis and evolution of the US policy towards Iran during the George W. Bush administration, defines the characteristic features and peculiarities of the neoconservative approach to the policy of "containment" against Iran and the "mullocracy" regime. It is shown that the neoconservative approach to the implementation of the strategy of "containment" of Iran consisted in a complex political and diplomatic pressure on Tehran, including through a demonstration of readiness to use military force if necessary.
