This article provides a historical analysis of the dynamics of foreign trade in France in the XXI century. Special attention is paid to the comparison of the main foreign trade indicators of the Republic in 2000 and 2021, as well as the change in the commodity structure of foreign trade for the specified period. At the same time, the process of France losing its dominant position on the world stage and reducing its share in the world market is shown. The novelty of the article lies in the fact that it provides a forecast of the development of crisis phenomena in the French economy due to the active participation of the Fifth Republic in the hybrid war against Russia. When writing the article, the historical and economic and statistical-mathematical methods of scientific research were actively used.
