The article is devoted to the issue of innovative development of Russian regions. The place of Russia in the global ranking in terms of innovation is shown. The problem of interregional inequality in the level of innovative development is identified and the factors that negatively affect the demand for innovation in the regions of Russia are identified. Some measures to reduce interregional inequality in the field of innovation are proposed.
