Subject of Study: patterns and specific manifestations of social discrimination and injustice in the field of physical culture and sports as the processes affecting the quality of life in Russia today. Contents of the Article. The authors analyze the contents and main features of the phenomenon of social injustice and discrimination in the field of physical culture and sports. The factors causing this phenomenon in contemporary Russian sport and basic methods of unfair competition as a manifestation of injustice in the sport are characterized. Purpose. The essence of social discrimination and social inequality among citizens of the Russian Federation in the field of equal opportunities for physical culture and sports.

Введение
Обращая внимание на сущность социальной дискриминации как на проблему несправедливости [Григорьев, Миронова, Мартынова, Толстых, 2014, 16] в области физической культуры и спорта, мы не можем рассматривать эту тему, не учитывая изменений, происходящих в нашем обществе. В связи с тем что современное российское общество переживает глубокий социальный кризис, неравенство граждан проявляется буквально во всем: разрыв между богатыми и бедными увеличивается, а сама жизнь с каждым годом становиться все дороже. Несовершенство законов, беспредел промышленных и коммуна льных монополий породили социальное неравенство среди граждан нашей страны [Бобков, Вередюк, 2014, 17, с. 7–16].
Это неравенство прочно укоренилось и в спорте [2, c. 5], так как заниматься физической культурой и спортом сегодня в России [Бобосов, Городяненко, Григорьев, Даровских, 2014, 18, с. 139-138] позволить себе может далеко не каждый. Отсутствие возможностей для занятий может рассматриваться как социальная дискриминация человека. Согласно Федеральному закону «О физической культуре и спорте», спорт представляет собой сферу социально-культурной деятельности как совокупность видов спорта в форме соревнований и специальной практики подготовки человека к ним [10].
