The article deals with the key features of the implementation of state regulating standards of living in the Republic of Kazakhstan today. The author reveals the most pressing public policy issues in the context of macroeconomic instability. The article emphasizes the interconnection of the state policy and social dynamics in living standards as the main factors determining not only current but also future development of society. The author emphasizes the need of developing and applying methodology and models for monitoring basic living standards as the basis for improving the effectiveness of state regulation in Kazakhstan. Poverty indicators prove the importance of obtaining an objective assessment of their dynamics for the implementation of point and economically justified feasible control measures. The most optimal point of focus for the implementation of state regulation is the key for improving living standards. A complex approach should be the main criterion for implementating measures of state regulation. Considering the specifics of monitoring and management of socio-economic indicators in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as drawing on international experience, the author puts forward the idea of the need to strengthen the role of state regulation in the formation of the wage system, for smoothing the socioeconomic problems of society in the face of uncertainty and high economic and social risks.

Проблема эффективности мер государственного регулирования уровня жизни на современном этапе является актуальной практически для всех стран Содружества, и Казахстан — не исключение.
В условиях трудно предсказуемых изменений макроэкономических индикаторов и усиления влияния глобальных экономических факторов динамика показателей уровня жизни во многом предопределяет снижение не только текущих, но и будущих показателей качества жизни населения.
В то же время показатели уровня жизни населения как предмет и основа нормального функционирования торгово-финансовых отношений в рамках экономической системы Республики в период нестабильности является существенным фактором изменения направления политики государственного регулирования.
