We discuss the contemporary developments of the method of guiding functions: non-smooth guiding functions, integral guiding functions, guiding functions in infinite-dimensional spaces. We consider applications to the existence of periodic, generalized periodic, and bounded solutions, boundary value problems, bifurcations of families of solutions and other questions.
