The results of the experimental work to define the basic parameters describing the quality of wood (porosity, density, strength) to the rate of growth for representatives of different tree groups are given in the article. Proposed by the authors express method significantly reduces energy and labor costs in determining wood quality indicators that are widely used for calculations of processes of heating wood, determine the dry matter content in the wood raw material for pulp and paper industry are of great importance when drying, impregnation of wood with an antiseptic solution and flame retardants to improve its properties.

Важнейшими показателями, характеризующими качество древесины,являются пористость, плотность и прочность. Эти показатели широко используются для расчетов процессов нагревания древесины, определения содержания сухого вещества в древесном сырье для целлюлозно-бумажной промышленности, имеют большое значение при пропитке растворами антисептиков и антипиренов с целью улучшения ее свойств, при сушке древесины, при сплаве лесоматериалов и в других случаях.
