The paper is dedicated to professional readiness of teacher of Russian as foreign language to pedagogical communication. Professional pedagogical communication is considered and estimated by the author as an actionable and system-forming base of interaction of teacher and student in the process of studying. The crucial features of professionalism of teacher of Russian as foreign language indicating the formation of his professional communicative competence are analyzed including mastery of technology of pedagogical communication and mastery of the pedagogical technique.
